TPS
If The Secretary of Homeland Security has designated your home country for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), you may be eligible for this immigration benefit. As in any process, you must determine the eligibility of your case first.
This process was implemented for nationals of those designated countries that reside in the United States, and that the conditions of their countries do not allow them to return safely.
The countries currently designated for TPS are:
Burma (Myanmar)
The Savior
Haiti
Honduras
Nepal
Nicaragua
Somalia
South Sudan
Syria
Venezuela
Yemen
You could also qualify if you are an individual without a nationality and you resided, for the last time before coming to the United States, in one of the countries listed above.
Even though you are a national of a country that falls under this designation, it is always helpful to visit Elliott Immigration Law to review your case before applying and to help you throughout the process because there are certain exceptions that might prevent USCIS to grant your application.
