L-1
Visas for intracompany transfers for managers, executive, employees with specialized knowledge. Includes New Office petitions and visas for spouses and children.
L-1 visas are a great option for foreign nationals who need to transfer to the U.S. for a period to establish and work in an office that is directly related to the foreign company where they previously resided. Sub visa categories for the L-1 are as follows: L-1A, L-1B and a Blanket L Petitions.
L-1A Information
Are you an employee who is coming to the U.S. to either set up, run, or manage your company’s U.S. location? If so, attaining an L-1A visa for Intracompany Transferee Managers or Executives might be the status for you. The L-1A visa simply allows a U.S. employer to transfer an executive or manager from their office locations abroad to either set up or work in the U.S. location.
Blanket L Information
Before filing an L-1A or L-1B application, businesses should check to see if they may be eligible for a Blanket L petition instead. While the blanket petition does not guarantee the candidates will receive an L visa, this type of petition does allow for the employer to transfer employees more efficiently from the abroad company to the U.S. on a shorter notice.
Elliott Immigration Law would me more than happy to assist you in the process to determine which is the best option for you.
L-1B Information
An L-1B visa is a great option for an employer who seeks to transfer their employee from its foreign office to an existing office in the U.S. More specifically, the L-1B visa tailors to the professional employee who does not hold a manager or executive title but does attain specialized knowledge.
To qualify, the applicant must have been working for a qualifying organization abroad for one continuous year within the three years immediately before the admission to the United States; and be seeking to enter the United States to provide services in a specialized knowledge capacity to a branch of the same employer or one of its qualifying organizations.
